Gene T. Kim
Chief Strategy Officer
Gene is a pioneering figure in global finance and technology, with a career that began on Wall Street trading complex financial derivatives for J.P. Morgan and Merrill Lynch. At just 24, Gene was appointed Head Trader of Merrill Lynch’s global USD Fixed-Income Swap Group—the largest derivatives trading desk in the world—where he led the team to consecutive #1 rankings among institutional clients and competing investment banks. He later moved to London to manage Merrill’s European Fixed-Income Swap Group, further cementing his reputation as a leader in high-stakes trading.
At 27, Gene joined Tiger Management, then the world’s largest hedge fund, overseeing all trading in Asia. In 1999, he founded Bamboo, bringing his vision and leadership to establish the company as a transformative force in technology services. Gene is widely recognized as one of the founding figures of the Chinese Offshore Software Outsourcing industry and has been featured in numerous international media outlets.
Gene holds dual degrees in Finance and Decision Sciences from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.

Song Zhang
Chief Executive Officer
Song is a seasoned technology and business leader with more than 25 years of international experience in IT services, digital transformation, and organizational growth. Before joining Bamboo, he held senior global leadership roles at ThoughtWorks, where he helped expand the firm's China business from a 200-person operation into a highly successful organization of more than 2,000 professionals across seven cities. As Global Head of Service Lines, he led 2,000+ technologists worldwide and drove service innovation in Data & AI, Cloud & Platform, Design & Product, and large-scale digital transformation.
Song is recognized for guiding complex R&D and organizational transformation programs, improving agility and significantly accelerating time-to-market for global clients. His career spans leadership and technical roles across China, Singapore, Russia, and other international markets, delivering multimillion-dollar technology initiatives in sectors such as finance, telecom, and energy.
Song is an MBA graduate of Warwick Business School and author of _Lean Software Measurement_ and *Scaling Knowledge Organization*.

Adam Singer
Chief Operating Officer
Adam is an accomplished Risk and Compliance leader with extensive experience in regulatory governance and operational risk management across the Asia-Pacific region. Before joining Bamboo, Adam served as Group Chief Compliance Officer at HKEX, where he oversaw firm-wide compliance frameworks and policies, ensuring robust regulatory alignment and risk mitigation.
Adam began his career in investment banking at J.P. Morgan in New York in 1999 and later returned to Asia in 2009 to continue driving strategic compliance initiatives. His expertise spans building enterprise-wide risk programs, strengthening governance structures, and navigating complex regulatory environments for global financial institutions.
Fluent in English and French and conversant in Mandarin, Adam holds degrees from Columbia Business School and McGill University, bringing a global perspective and deep industry insight to Bamboo’s leadership team.
